A motorcyclist who died in a crash on the A96 in Moray has been named as police ask for witnesses to come forward.
Emergency crews were called to the road between Alves and Forres after a collision between a Yamaha Tracer 9 motorbike and a white Hyundai i10 car, at around 8.40am on Sunday.
The 34-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
He has now been named as Andrew Wright from Elgin.
The female driver of the car suffered minor injuries, and the road was closed for around 11 hours to allow for an investigation at the scene.
Police Scotland has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the motorcyclist at this very sad time.
“I would urge anyone who saw either vehicle shortly prior to the collision, particularly on the A96 between Elgin and Forres, who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact us.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 1112 of July 30.”
