Motorcyclist in hospital after crash with pickup truck on rural road

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a crash on a rural road in Aberdeenshire.

A Suzuki motorcycle and a Toyota Hilux pickup truck were involved in the crash on an unnamed road near Balthangie, between Turriff and New Pitsligo around 9pm on Tuesday.

The motorcyclist was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police are appealing to the public for information.

Sergeant Chris Bain of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our investigation is at an early stage, and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us.

“We are also keen to obtain any dashcam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 with quoting reference 3372 of August 11, 2026.”
