Rescue operation launched at waterfall over 'concern for person'

Emergency services were called to the Reekie Linn Waterfall near Kilry just before midday.

A multi-agency rescue operation was launched at a waterfall in Angus following reports of concern for a person.

Emergency services were called to the Reekie Linn Waterfall near Kilry around 11.52am on Wednesday.

Two fire engines and a number of specialist resources were sent to the scene.

Images taken at the scene show the road blocked by police and emergency services still in attendance.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.52am on Wednesday, August 6 to attend Reekie Linn Waterfall near Kilry.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and several specialist resources to the scene to assist emergency service partners.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.55am on Wednesday, August 6, we received a report of concern for a person at the Reekie Linn waterfall near Kilry.

“Emergency services are in attendance.”
