A heartbroken animal lover has turned to the public for help after her “beloved” pet goose went missing.
New Arc Wildlife Rescue in Aberdeenshire issued a plea for help on the owner’s behalf after the bird was spooked following an incident with a dog.
The missing goose, which goes by the name of Beaky, is described as being large and white and has a “friendly demeanour”.
The Emden goose was startled following the dog incident in Fyvie on September 20 and flew into the prevailing wind.
Attempts to locate Beaky have been unsuccessful so far and it is understood the female goose’s companion Betty is very distressed at her disappearance.
Paul, manager of New Arc Wildlife rescue told STV News the whole team is hoping for the “safe return” of Beaky.
The rescue centre shared a post to their Facebook followers encouraging anyone who may have seen the missing goose to get in touch.
The post read: “A lady has lost her beloved Emden goose towards Fyvie after an incident with a dog. The goose is one of a pair, and the partner is very distressed.
“The picture below is representative of the species but not the individual that’s missing. The missing goose has a chip on the left side of her beak and is called ‘Beaky’.
“She is large and all white.
“If you see the goose which took off into a prevailing wind on Wednesday please give us a call on 01358701723 (option 2)”.
