Police are investigating after the occupants of a car which crashed on a Aberdeenshire road fled the scene.
Emergency services were called to reports of a one-car crash on the A90 at Balmedie at around 4.50pm on Sunday, September 25.
Police discovered that those in the car had made off before officers arrived at the scene and said enquiries are ongoing.
The southbound lane of the road was closed for approximately one hour with drivers warned to approach the area with care as traffic backed up.
The lane reopened and traffic returned to normal at around 6.30pm that evening.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.50pm on Sunday, September 25, police were called to a report of a road crash involving one car on the A90 at Balmedie.
“The occupants of the car had made off before police arrival and enquiries are ongoing.”
