A man, who died following a one-car in Perthshire, has been described as “one in a billion” by loved ones.

Emergency services were called to the A824, Auchterarder to Aberuthven Road near to Damside around 2.40pm on Friday to reports of a crash involving a Land Rover Freelander.

The 41-year-old driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has since been named locally as Loren MacGillivray, also known as LJ.

Billy Vaughan wrote: “We saw minions just 2 weeks ago, Loren, you will always be in my heart and thoughts. They say only the good die young. Words are too difficult to type.

“You were one in a billion! Until we meet again, brother.”

Another friend, Debbie Ramsay, described Loren as the “daft one”.

She added: “There are no words that could explain the void that has been left with the devastating news of Loren MacGillivray.

“LJ was always the fun daft one, the one that would always come up with the daft ideas, then watch everyone else carry them out lol.

“That laugh will always stay with me.”

A fundraiser has been set up to assist with the cost of giving the 41-year-old “the best send off money can buy”.
