One person has died and another is in hospital following a three-car crash on a major Aberdeenshire road.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10.30am on Wednesday December 28 to the incident on the A90 near Longhaven.
Police confirmed on Wednesday evening that one person died as a result of the collision.
Another person has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
The road was closed in both directions for hours, with diversions in place.
Police Scotland said enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the force said: “One person has died and another person taken to hospital as a precaution following a road crash on A90, near Longhaven, Aberdeenshire around 10.35 am on Wednesday, December 28.
“Enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing. The road is now open.”
