A man and a woman have appeared in court after the death of a man in Aberdeen.
Emergency services raced to the scene in Rosehill Crescent at around 10.45pm on Saturday, May 27 following a report of concern for a 39-year-old male.
He was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died shortly after.
Rosehill Crescent was cordoned off for several hours with officers continuing to carry out enquiries.
Mark Riddell, 36, and Leah Knight, 28, were charged in connection with assault following the incident.
The pair, both from Aberdeen, made no plea to charges of assault to danger of life.
They have been remanded in custody and will reappear within eight days.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.45pm on Saturday, May 29, 2023, police received a report of concern for a 39-year-old man within a property on Rosehill Crescent in Aberdeen.
“The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.
“His next of kin have been informed.
“A 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with an assault and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
“The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) and the Police Investigation and Review Commissioner (PIRC) have been informed and it would therefore be inappropriate to comment further.”
