Pedestrian who died after being hit by van named by police

A pedestrian who died after being struck by a van in Moray has been named by police.

Jonathan Cameron, 25, was hit by a white Volkswagen near Buccaneer Service Station on the A941 north of Elgin at around 6.20am on Saturday.

Mr Cameron, of Lossiemouth, was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The male driver of the van was uninjured.

 Closed: The crash happened on Saturday morning.

Sergeant Scott Deans said: “Our thoughts at this difficult time remain with those involved.

“Our investigations continue and in order to help piece together exactly what happened, I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or saw pedestrians on the road around this time, or if anyone has dashcam footage of the incident who have not yet contacted the police to do so.”
