A woman has died after she was struck by a van on a road in Dundee on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to Christian Road in the Broughty Ferry area at around 5.25pm following reports of a collision.
The incident involved an 83-year-old pedestrian and a silver Ford Transit van. Medical crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Her next of kin has been informed. No other injuries were reported.
The road was closed for six hours to allow for investigations to take place.
Sergeant David Farr, Road Policing East, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who died at this extremely difficult time.
“Our investigation into the crash is ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to contact officers.
“I’d also ask that those with private CCTV or dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
