A pensioner suffered serious injuries after her car struck a tree by the side of the road in Aberdeen.
The 88-year-old was rushed for emergency treatment at hospital following the incident on Baillieswells Road in the Bieldside area of the city on Saturday morning.
Crew shut down the road for more than five hours from around 10.20am while an initial investigation into the incident involving a silver Volkswagen Polo got under way.
The woman was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she remains.
Sergeant Steve Manson, of North East Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with information to get in touch.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the crash, or have any potential dashcam footage which could assist our investigation, please call police on 101, quoting incident 1230 of August 27.”
