A pensioner has died and a woman has been taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Perth and Kinross.
The incident occurred on the A9 at its junction with the B8081 at Blackford at around 8.40pm on Sunday and involved an Audi A4 and a Suzuki SX4.
Emergency services attended, however an 83-year-old female passenger in the Suzuki SX4 was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old woman, the driver of the Audi, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where her current condition is unknown.
An 89-year-old man, the driver of the Suzuki, and a 54-year-old male passenger did not require treatment.
Three teenage girls, who were passengers in the Audi, were also found to be uninjured.
An investigation into the crash remains at an early stage and a report is to be sent to the procurator fiscal.
Sergeant David Farr of Tayside’s Divisional Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died following this crash.
“Our investigation is ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash take place who has not yet spoken to police to contact us. We are also keen to obtain any dashcam from motorists driving on the road around the time of the crash.
“Anyone with information should contact officers through 101 with reference 3311 of October 23.”
