A pensioner is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious road crash in the early hours of Thursday morning.
At around 1am on June 8, the 69-year-old’s car, a silver Nissan Micra, was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Arbroath on East Mary Street at its junction with Hannah Street.
The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment where he remains in a critical condition.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and Police Scotland are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Gordon Dickson said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this crash. The road remains closed at this time for officers to carry out enquiries.”
“I would urge anyone who may have seen the car involved prior to the incident, or who has any dash-cam footage to come forward if you haven’t already spoken to an officer.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0189 of June 8, 2023.”
