Police are searching for the dog's owner following the incident at Auchmill Golf Club in Aberdeen.

A pensioner was taken to hospital after being bitten by a dog outside a golf club in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to Auchmill Golf Club, on Bonnyview Road, at around 12.10pm on Friday, April 28, after a 73-year-old man was bitten by a black Alsatian.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he received treatment to his injuries.

Officers are now searching for the dog’s owner, who left the area before the victim could obtain his details.

He is described as a white male in his 30s, about five foot 10, with a heavy build and he had a black beard.

During the incident he wore black clothing and blue denim jeans.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10pm on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Auchmill Golf Club, Bonnyview Road, Aberdeen, a 73-year-old male was bitten by a black dog near to the carpark and clubhouse.

“The dog’s owner has then left the area before the victim could obtain his details. The victim has then been conveyed to Aberdeen ARI, where he has required medical attention due to his injuries.

“The dog is described as a black Alsatian type dog which was 13 months old.

“The dog’s owner is described as a white male in his 30s, about five foot 10, with a heavy build. He had a black beard and wore black clothing and blue denim jeans.”
