Person traced after major search operation at promenade

Emergency services were called around 10.30pm on Wednesday to Kirkcaldy promenade

A person has been traced following a major search operation at a promenade in Fife.

Emergency services were called around 10.30pm on Wednesday to Kirkcaldy promenade following reports of concern for a person amid reports of a person entering the water.

The person was later traced and taken to hospital.

It is understood there was no patient in the water.

An HM Coastguard helicopter was sent to the scene, as well as rescue teams from Leven, Kinghorn, St Andrews and South Queensferry and an RNLI lifeboat from Kinghorn.
