Police are investigating the death of a woman at a swimming pool in Perth.
The 71-year-old was pronounced dead after “taking unwell” at Perth Leisure Pool on Friday morning.
Emergency crews rushed to the facility, which has since been closed until further notice, shortly after 10am.
Officers said they are treating the death as unexplained, but do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
Live Active, who manage the pool, said it would remain closed due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
It is unclear when the pool will reopen.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.
“Around 10.55am on Friday, October 6, we were made aware of a person having taken unwell at a premises on Glasgow Road, Perth,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.
“Emergency services attended and a 71-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
