Pick-up truck driver, 54, dies in crash near junction

The driver of a Toyota Hilux was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Wednesday.

A woman has died after a crash involving a pick-up truck in Perth and Kinross.

Emergency services were called after a crash involving a Toyota Hilux on Burnhead Road near its junction with Hill Street in Blairgowrie at around 9.30am on Wednesday.

The 54-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.

Sergeant John McDiarmid said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died.

“Our enquiries into the circumstances continue, and I would appeal to anyone who either witnessed the crash or who has any information that may assist us to please come forward.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dash-cam footage, which could assist, to contact us.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland through 101 quoting incident number 0879 of July 23.”
