Plans for a £1m community hub in Dundee have been approved.
A full planning application was lodged with the local authority in March.
Under the proposals, lodged by local wellbeing charity Kanzen for Life, a former retail unit on Clepington Road will be turned into a community hub.
The charity has been active in the Stobswell area since 2016 and is currently based in Mains Loan.
The new centre will be a multi-use community space offering physical classes, educational initiatives, community projects, and leadership training.
It will also create ten new jobs in the area.
It is hoped the new premises will help meet the charity’s growing demand, as well as tackle social isolation, inactivity, and poor mental health.
An accompanying planning statement said: “This is an investment in the people of Stobswell and the future of community-led change in Dundee.
“The Kanzen for Life Centre will be a place where physical activity builds confidence, where wellbeing support is accessible, and where new leaders and volunteers develop the skills to give back.
“At Kanzen for Life, we believe better lives are built through movement, connection, and opportunity, and Clepington Road is where that belief will become a reality for generations to come.”
The bid was approved by planning officers under delegated powers.
