A review within Police Scotland has been launched after officers visited an address in Angus the same day a woman was found dead.
Police were called to Dronley Terrace, Muirhead, at around 10.15pm on Friday following reports of concern for a person at a property.
A 45-year-old woman was found dead at the scene.
The woman has not yet been named, and police are treating the death as “unexplained”. Her family have been made aware.
Police attended the address earlier on the same day, however the circumstances of the first visit are unknown.
The force has passed a report to its Professional Standards Department (PSD), which investigates complaints and conduct matters within Police Scotland.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A report on the circumstances has been passed to Professional Standards Department for review.”
