Police are hunting for a pair of shoes and a hat missing from the body of a man found dead in Dundee on Hogmanay.
Emergency services were called around 2.05pm on Wednesday, December 31 to Hilltown Terrace in the Hilltown area of the city.
A 38-year-old man was pronounced dead within Tulloch Court.
Following the results of a post-mortem examination, his death continues to be treated as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers have conducted more than 80 door-to-door enquiries and reviewed over 100 hours of CCTV footage in an effort to trace the man’s movements before he was found.
From CCTV obtained, the man was seen to be wearing a black and grey horizontal striped beanie hat, a dark puffer jacket, dark joggers and black Nike trainers with white soles.
However, when he was discovered, he was not wearing a hat or shoes.
Detective Inspector Simon Murray said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of his death.
“While we’ve spoken to many local residents, I’m appealing for anyone else with information who has not already come forward to contact us.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a man matching the description between 11.30am and 2.05pm on Wednesday, December 31, in the Hilltown area.
“I also want to find the shoes and hat he was seen wearing earlier in the day. It may be that he has taken these off and left them somewhere, which could help us trace his movements.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1687 of December 31.
