A major roadway connecting Fife and Dundee was closed in both directions overnight.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A92 Tay Road Bridge at around 2.33am on Wednesday due to a “police incident”.
The road was subsequently shut in both directions.
It later reopened at around 4.52am.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Police Scotland confirmed this was over concern for a person who has since been traced.
