Residents in Aberdeenshire are being urged to lock their oil tanks following the theft of heating oil from two homes.
The thefts were reported from properties on Commerce Street in Insch between 12am and 6am on April 28.
Police are asking residents to remain vigilant if they see suspicious vehicles in the area while investigations are ongoing.
Constable Ryan McKinnon said: “We are aware of several similar thefts across Aberdeenshire, and these crimes put a large financial strain on families, at a time when the price of fuel is affecting everyone.
“We are appealing for anyone with any information, or possible CCTV or dash-cam footage in the Insch area, to please come forward.
“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 1344 of April 28, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
