Police are treating the death of a man found seriously injured in Aberdeen as “suspicious”, and are following a positive line of enquiry.
Officers were called around 12.35am on Thursday to a report of a man found seriously injured in the Pennan Road area.
Emergency services attended and a 24-year-old man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The death is being treated as suspicious, and his next of kin are aware.

Detective Inspector James Callander from the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this very difficult time.
“Extensive enquiries are being carried out by officers and specialist resources as we continue to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“However, we are following a positive line of enquiry.”
Chief Inspector Darren Bruce, Local Area Commander, said: “We understand this will be a concerning incident for the local community.
“There will be a continued visible police presence in the area, and anyone with concerns can speak to these officers.”
