Police have launched an investigation after a player was hit by a “missile” during Dundee and Dundee United’s clash on Saturday.
Dundee’s goalkeeper, Owen Goodman, was reportedly hit by an object thrown from the Eddie Thompson Stand at Tannadice during his team’s 2-0 derby victory over city rivals.
The player was not injured.
The club is now working with Police Scotland to identify the person responsible.
Constable Matthew Boath said: “Thankfully the man was not injured, however this type of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
“An investigation is ongoing and are working closely with both clubs to identify the person responsible.
“I urge anyone at the game who witnessed the incident and can assist in our enquiries to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2015 of August 22, 2026.
