STV NewsThe Earl and Countess of Forfar have travelled to Angus to attend a church service celebrating the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Edward and Sophie, who use the Forfar title rather than the Earl and Countess of Wessex on visits north of the border, carried out separate visits on Tuesday morning.
The Earl visited Ogilvy Distillery near Glamis, while the Countess met youngsters at an early learning centre in Forfar.
The centre was built by Angus Council on the site of the former Forfar Academy.
On Tuesday afternoon, the royals attended a service of thanksgiving at Lowson Memorial church for the Earl’s mother, the Queen, which was led by kirk minister the Rev. Dr Karen Fenwick.
Civic dignitaries and community ambassadors were invited along with Angus volunteers who were involved in Operation Unicorn following the Queen’s death at Balmoral in September.
