An investigation has been launched after knives were stolen from a school in Aberdeenshire.

Police were alerted to the theft from Banchory Academy on Wednesday.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Aberdeenshire Council said it was aware of the investigation and that the school is working with police.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of a report of theft from Banchory Academy.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the school is working with Police Scotland.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, we received a report of a theft from a school in Banchory.

“Enquiries are continuing and we are working with partner agencies in relation to this report.”
