An investigation has been launched following the “unexplained” death of a child in Fife.

Emergency services were called to Inverkeithing at around 10.20am on Monday.

Officers were made aware of the death of a child.

Police said the death is being treated as “unexplained” and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.20am on Monday, November 10, 2025, police were made aware of the death of a child in Inverkeithing.

“The death is being treated as unexplained, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
