An RAF plane has made an emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport.
The Typhoon jet experienced a technical problem on a routine training mission on Wednesday afternoon.
The aircraft landed safely and no injuries were reported. Engineers are currently on their way to assess the plane.
An RAF spokesperson said: “An RAF Typhoon from RAF Lossiemouth on a routine training sortie had a technical issue that required it to divert to the nearest suitable airfield.
“The aircraft landed safely at Aberdeen and the pilot is fine.”
Emergency services said they were aware of the incident.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 12.43pm on Wednesday, July 29 to assist partners at Aberdeen Airport.
“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances however their assistance was not required.”
Meanwhile, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of an emergency on board an aircraft at 12.45pm – it then landed safely at Aberdeen Airport by 12.55pm. “
