Hundreds of women, children and men have taken to the streets of Dundee to call for the city to be made safer for women.
The annual Reclaim the Night march is part of the global campaign 16 Days of Activism to end gender-based violence.
This year people are being asked to imagine a world where women and girls are safe from harm.
Chair of the Women’s Rape and Sexual Assault Centre in Dundee, Angela Wilson, said they are continuing the fight to better protect women and girls.
“It shouldn’t just be your imagination, it can be a reality,” she said.
“We’ve been marching since 1977. We shouldn’t have to keep marching for this, it should be a way of life.
“It can be a reality, it’s the duty of all of us, everybody has a part to play and that includes men.
“We’re seeing an increasing number of men coming to our march because they have an important part to play. They have an important role to call out the behaviour of other men.”
While progress has been made, and there is hope attitudes in society are changing towards women, campaigners say they need more support.
Katie Duff, who works with survivors of violence and sexual assault, says more funding will help make changes permanent.
She said: “We need to get rid of victim blaming, we need to see a better criminal justice service, things need to change.
“In order for that to happen we need funding.
“That’s the bigger picture we need funding for change and to make things happen.”
A series of events have been planned in Dundee, Perth and Kinross and Angus.
