The remains found at a church in Perth last month have been identified as human, but no criminality.

Emergency services were called to the Trinity Church of the Nazarene on York Place following the discovery on November 26.

The grounds were taped off by officers as detectives carried out enquiries.

Officers have confirmed that the material has been identified as human; however, detectives do not believe there is any criminality involved.

An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the discovery.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, officers received a report of possible human material at a church on York Place, Perth.

“Following enquiries, the material has been confirmed as human. There is not believed to be any criminality involved.

“Further enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 2440 of Wednesday, November 26, 2025.”
