Roads closed as firefighters tackle blaze at quarry

Firefighters are battling a blaze which has broken out at a quarry in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire at Stoneyhill Quarry, at Longhaven, near to Peterhead at around 2.15pm on Saturday afternoon.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is currently in attendance, with six appliances at the scene alongside five officers.

Road closures have been put in place between Auchriries and Cairn Catto.

Police have urged the public to avoid the area.
