A schoolgirl has been charged after a man was allegedly assaulted at a bus station in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the station in Glenrothes town centre at around 5.55pm on Tuesday following reports of an attack on a 20-year-old man.

The man did not require hospital treatment following the incident. A 15-year-old girl has been charged in connection with the reported assault.

An investigation is still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.55pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, we received a report of the assault of a 20-year-old man in Glenrothes Town Centre.

“He did not require hospital treatment.

“A 15-year-old female youth has been charged in connection and a report will be sent to the relevant authority.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
