A man who went missing in Rome while on holiday with his fiancée has been found.

Anabella Mcallister said her fiancée, Colin Alexander Ross, disappeared up a side street on the first night of their “dream holiday” at the Pantheon in Piazza della Rotonda on Friday, August 14.

She said Colin, from Elgin in Moray, was in an “unsteady state” due to the heat and his medication.

The 56-year-old, who was injured, has since been found after making his way back to the hotel.

In an update, his daughter told STV News: “He’s just been found.

“He was injured, and Rome police wouldn’t help him back to where his hotel was, so he was walking around in the heat, but somehow made it back.”

An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man missing in Italy and are in touch with the local authorities.”
