A Scotland fan has surprised his dad in Miami, who had no idea his son had flown over to America.
Lee Barron flew out to Florida this week without the knowledge of his dad, Alan, who had travelled to Boston to watch Scotland at the World Cup.
Carefully orchestrated by friends and family for months, Lee showed up in a bar in Fort Lauderdale dressed completely in disguise.
His dad, thinking he was speaking to a local, had no idea it was his son under a pair of sunglasses, a bandana, a fake beard, and fake tattoo sleeves, speaking with an American accent.
Lee BarronAlan was stunned when Lee revealed his Scotland top underneath a shirt and proceeded to unmask himself.
The dad and son, from Perth, both have tickets for the game against Brazil on Wednesday.
Lee admits he paid more for the match ticket than for his flight.
Lee told STV News: “We had our first away game together in 2005 at the San Siro in Milan, there were about 20 of us that went to that, I was a bit gutted when there were only three or four of them going this trip, so I made the journey.
“It went better than we thought.
“Delighted to see his reaction and bewilderment – he wasn’t too happy when I said I was bunking in his room.”
