Police are searching for a driver who left the scene after two women were taken to hospital following a crash in Angus.

Emergency services were called to the A923, at the junction with the A984, known locally as Bendochy Crossroads, after a crash involving a blue Volkswagen Golf and a silver Hyundai i10 at around 4pm on Monday.

The occupants of the Hyundai, an 86-year-old woman and a 76-year-old woman, were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment before being released.

The Volkswagen left the scene before officers arrived and enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupants.

Constable Mathew Ross said: “Investigations are being carried out to establish the full circumstances of this collision.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far and continue to appeal for anyone who saw what happened, and has not already spoken to police, to get in touch. I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone with dash-cam footage from the area at the time.

“We’ve been told the Volkswagen was seen in the Blairgowrie area before the crash and may have had damage to it at that time. I’d ask anyone with information about that to also come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2293 of 21 July, 2025.
