A search has been launched to locate a pensioner who was last seen at an Aberdeen shopping centre on Thursday night.

William Robertson was spotted in the Union Square area at around 10.10pm, however, the 81-year-old has not been seen since.

Detectives believe the pensioner may have boarded a bus, but it is not known where he planned to travel.

He is described as white, around 5ft 4in in height, of stocky build, with light brown hair. When William was last seen he was wearing dark coloured trousers, a dark jacket and dark coloured shoes with white soles.

Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace him.

Sergeant Jordan Walker said: “This is out of character for William to be missing and we’re increasingly concerned for his welfare as time goes on without contact from him. We need the public’s help to try to trace him as soon as possible and ensure he’s safe and well.

“William may appear confused or disorientated. He has links to the Torry and Stonehaven areas and may have travelled there.

“Anyone who thinks they may have seen William, or has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3507 of February 12.”
