A search for a missing plane that lost contact over the North Sea after taking off from Germany last week has been stood down.
HM Coastguard supported German authorities during the search for a light aircraft that disappeared with one person on board on September 30.
The alarm was raised with the coastguard on Monday, October 2, as it was believed to be in the UK Search and Rescue region.
A fixed-wing aircraft was sent out to search the area between Shetland and Norway – who’s search and rescue authorities also assisted the search.
However, the search has now been stood down for the time being after authorities failed to recover any trace of the plane.
