A search operation is under way following reports of a man in the River Tay.
Police, firefighters and coastguards were sent to the scene near to North Muirton in Perth at around 2pm on Tuesday.
Witnesses reported the man, who was described as white with blonde hair, was seen in the high water before going under and failing to resurface.
Inspector Dave Gibson said: “I would ask anyone who may have been in the area of the River Tay this afternoon to call us on the 101 number if they have seen or heard anything which might assist in this search.”
