A second man has died after two fell from scaffolding in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Merchant Street, Peterhead, on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 18.
One man, aged 77-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene while the second, also 77-year-old, was take to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He passed away on Monday.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said it will investigate alongside Police Scotland.
A spokesperson for the force said: “A second 77-year-old man has died after falling from scaffolding on Merchant Street, Peterhead around 3pm on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
“He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and died on Monday, August 23.
“A 77-year-old man was also pronounced dead at the scene.
“The Health and Safety Executive has been made aware and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. “A full report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
An HSE spokesperson said: “HSE is aware and will be investigating alongside Police Scotland.”
