Hundreds took part in a bike convoy to remember an Angus oil worker brutally killed in a murder plot by his ex-partner.
Crowds paid tribute to 27-year-old biking enthusiast Steven Donaldson, who was found dead at a nature reserve in June 2018.
It was the third annual procession in his honour as bikers travelled the route from Arbroath to Kinnordy.
This year’s memorial took place a day after Mr Donaldson’s former partner Tasmin Glass was granted parole five years into her ten-year sentence for culpable homicide.
His loved ones were told on Friday that Glass has been released with conditions, including a ban on her entering Angus and Dundee, as well as approaching the family.
Organiser Billy Connelly told STV News: “The memorial lets everyone show support for Steven’s family – whether they are on the streets or on the bikes.
“It’s all for Steven’s family. It’s amazing, absolutely amazing – if it wasn’t for every single person who turns up here on the streets, it wouldn’t be what it is.”
Glass lured Steven to a playpark in Kirriemuir before he was brutally killed at the Loch Of Kinnordy by Callum Davidson and Steven Dickie in a crime that shocked Angus in 2018.
The then 20-year-old was jailed for ten years in 2019 for culpable homicide while Davidson and Dickie were handed sentences of over 20 years each for his murder.
Local resident Kelly Gray said: “Along with the rest of the community, I was saddened and shocked by this terrible event.
“So the community should come out in force just to be there to show our support.
“The outcome yesterday was horrendous – I think a lot of anger, shock and disappointment in the justice system. It shouldn’t have been what it was.”
Kay Scott added: “I just want to be here – I just feel I had to be here to show support.
“I find it very emotional. It’s meant to be happy but I find it hard.”
