Police have charged a suspect after a pensioner was conned by a bogus workman in Perthshire.
Earlier this week, a man entered the home of a woman in her 70s and took money from her for gardening work that was not carried out.
On Friday, Police Scotland confirmed a 34-year-old man had been charged in connection with the incident, which happened in Stanley.
Officers want to hear from anyone else that may have been targeted in the village.
A force spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with a ‘bogus workman’ type fraud in Stanley earlier this week.
“He is alleged to have entered the home of a woman in her 70s and obtained money from her for gardening work which was not carried out.
“There is a possibility that there may have been other incidents of this type in the village which we have not yet been informed of.
“If you have any information about any further incidents like this, please call 101 and let us know.”
