A suspect has been charged three months after an XL Bully died and a man was hurt in an alleged murder bid in an Aberdeen park.

Emergency services were called to Deveron Road on Sunday, July 27 earlier this year after a car was allegedy driven into Eric Hendrie Park.

A 51-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident with serious injuries.

An XL Bully dog belonging to the man died following the disturbance.

Officers said the incident was being treated as attempted murder.

Three months on, police have confirmed a 40-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday, October 21.
