A teenager has been arrested after two men were seriously assaulted in a murder bid in Aberdeen city centre.
Emergency services were called to Bon Accord Square shortly after 3am in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of the 20-year-old and serious assault of the 18-year-old.
STV NewsDetective Sergeant Emma Low said: “Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us as soon as possible.
“We’d also ask anyone with private CCTV…to check their footage and pass any footage to us.
“Any information, no matter how small, could help us as we continue our enquiries.”
STV NewsChief Inspector Victoria Stables said: “We recognise that this incident will be concerning to the local community.
“There will be additional patrols in the area to provide reassurance and support the ongoing enquiry. I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to our officers.”
