A teenager charged in connection with a series of deliberate fires at a Moray quarry will face no further action, prosecutors have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to Sunbank Quarry in Lossiemouth on four occasions within the space of a month after a number of fires were reported between August and September 2025.
No injuries were reported.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection with the wilful fires in September.
It has now been decided that there should be no further action should be taken against the teenager.
A spokesperson for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said: “After careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case, including the available admissible evidence, the Procurator Fiscal decided that there should be no further proceedings taken at this time.”
The case will remain under review, with the Crown able to proceed and prosecute against the teen at a future date.
