The death of a teenage boy in Aberdeenshire on New Year’s Day is being investigated by police.
Detectives are treating the 16-year-old’s death as unexplained.
Emergency services were called to a home on Keirhill Avenue in Westhill at around 10am on Sunday.
The teen was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police Scotland said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of concern for a 16-year-old male at a property on Keirhill Avenue in Westhill around 10am on Sunday, January 1.
“He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but pronounced dead a short time later.
“The death is being treated as unexplained, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
