Police have launched an investigation after a teenage girl was raped in a park in Moray.
Officers were called to Coopers Park, in Elgin, between 2.30am and 3am on Sunday after receiving reports that a 17-year-old girl was seriously sexual assaulted.
Enquires remain ongoing and Police Scotland is appealing for anyone who may have spoken to a young woman in the area to come forward.
A spokesperson said: “Officers from Police Scotland are investigating a serious sexual assault on a 17-year-old woman that occurred between 2.30am and 3am on Sunday, August 4, 2024 within Coopers Park, Elgin.
“Anyone who was in the area or anyone who has spoken to a young woman in the area around this time is asked to contact police via 101 and quote incident number 0752 of August 4, 2024.”
