Stephen Barnes via iStockA teenager has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a suspicious item in Perth after local people were evacuated from their homes.
A police cordon is in place following reports of a suspicious item being found within a premises in Fairmount Terrace, Perth, at about 6.45pm on Thursday.
Police Scotland have said that emergency services are in attendance, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit has arrived at the scene.
There are no reports of any injuries.
A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the find and inquiries are ongoing.
The building where the item was found and a number of nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution.
