A 79-year-old Dundee musician says he’s been overwhelmed by the response to his surprise duet with Sir Tom Jones.
Stan Urban appeared on The Voice as the series returned for its twelfth stint on Saturday.
After successfully catching one of the judges’ attention with his performance of Chuck Berry’s Little Queenie, he then held an impromptu performance with the Welsh superstar.
Jones, 83, sang Great Balls of Fire while Stan played the keyboard as the audience clapped and cheered.
“It’s been fantastic. The reaction’s been great,” said Mr Urban.
“When I look at something like that, I realise it’s me but I keep thinking it’s ‘him’ if you catch my drift.
“It’s been a very exciting weekend, couldn’t have hoped for anything better.”
However, Saturday night wasn’t Stan’s first claim to fame.
In 2019, he performed at Dundee railway station, clocking up over a million views online.
He’s also performed alongside the likes of Mick Jagger and Chuck Berry.
“Eventually you become what you do. I’m at the stage now where nobody can copy what I do,” he added.
“People say you break all the rules.
“I disagree, I didn’t know what the rules were in the first place.”
Stan’s performance earned him a place in the next round of the competition but it wasn’t without some confusion.
Olly Murs left his chair to congratulate Stan after he pushed his button. But Stan seemed confused, believing he would be linked up with Sir Tom Jones.
“He [Tom Jones] thought that he was on my team but he wasn’t,” said Mr Urban.
“We kept talking, he found this very funny.
“He also says, that I was a breath of fresh air.”
Stan will be returning to The Voice UK later in the series, which will continue on Saturdays on STV.
