A woman has been charged over the death of a man who fell from a block of flats in Dundee while two others are accused of abduction and extortion.
Emergency services were called to Morgan Street in Dundee on January 10 after reports that a 36-year-old had fallen from a window.
He was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment to serious injuries where he died a week later on Wednesday, January 17.
On Thursday, police confirmed a 38-year-old woman had been charged with culpable homicide.
A 50-year-old man and 41-year-old woman have also been arrested and charged with abduction and extortion.
The trio are set to appear in Dundee Sheriff Count on Thursday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers have arrested and charged a 38-year-old woman with culpable homicide after a 36-year-old man fell from a block of flats on Morgan Street, Dundee on Wednesday, January 10. He died a week later in hospital.
“A 50-year-old man and 41-year-old woman have also been arrested and charged with abduction and extortion following the incident.
“They will all be appearing in Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday, April 4, 2024. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Humza Yousaf’s brother-in-law, Ramsay El-Nakla, who is not one of those charged, was previously arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further investigations. He is the brother of Yousaf’s wife Nadia El-Nakla.
