Three schoolgirls have been charged after a fire was deliberately set in the toilets of a McDonald’s restaurant in Dundee.

The incident happened within the fast-food restaurant on Reform Street at around 9am on Sunday.

Police confirmed three girls aged 11, 11 and 12 have been charged in connection with the blaze.

The girls will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Three girls, aged 11, 11 and 12 have been charged in connection with a wilful fire within the toilets at McDonald’s restaurant, Reform Street, Dundee at around 9am on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

“They will be reported to the Youth Justice Assessor.”
